OUR LIFE AS A CONGREGATION
Zion is a faith community that preaches, teaches and strives to live out a spirituality that’s flavored with Lutheran thinking about God, faith and daily living. This spirituality shapes how we see ourselves in relation to God and how we engage with the world. We inherited it from Martin Luther, a 16th century pastor, teacher and theologian – but it’s by no means out-of-date!
WHAT WILL YOU FIND AS YOU GET TO KNOW US?
We'll be honest, we won't look very diverse at first glance. Yet among us you’ll find a wide variety of: religious backgrounds; ethnicities; educational experiences; work histories; personal opinions; and political perspectives. And while some of us have deep roots in the community – like five generations deep! – some of us are recent transplants from other places.
And while we’re being honest, we have to tell you that we aren’t perfect – we’re just a bunch of forgiven sinners trying to be faithful followers of Jesus. But we hope you’ll feel that there’s room at Zion for you to discover how God is at work in your life!

ZION OUTDOOR WORSHIP INFORMATION
If we have to cancel outdoor worship because of BAD WEATHER, we will send an email, post an announcement on Facebook and put a message on our church voice mail. We will make cancellation decisions by 7:00 a.m.
MASKS ARE REQUIRED, and they must be worn so that our mouths and noses are covered. We may not hug or shake hands. And we need to keep a six foot distance between us and people who are not part of our household.
Please bring a copy of the WORSHIP BULLETIN and your own CHAIR. And please set up your SEATING along the parking space lines so that we are sitting at least 6’ from each other.
We will provide PREPACKAGED COMMUNION PACKETS with wafers and grape juice.
The ASSISTED HEARING DEVICES that go with our sound system will be available.
PARKING OPTIONS: You may park on Philadelphia Ave. and reach the back parking lot through the Sunday School entrance in the connector. You may also enter 6th Terrace from the Buerger St. end and park in the parking lot at the Senior Center. A few spaces in the parking area behind the parsonage will be available for people with a disability placard.
Please go to the bathroom before leaving home. The BATHROOMS will be open, but we hope to avoid using them because of the danger posed by “high touch” surfaces and aerosol plumes from flushing toilets. (We ask that if you use the bathroom you disinfect any surfaces you touch with the disinfect provided).
THANK YOU for your cooperation with these guidelines! They will help us to keep everyone as safe as possible!
