Sunday School for Kids – PK to Grade 5
Sunday mornings from 9:45 a.m. – 10:45 a.m., September - May

Zion’s Sunday school for preschool and elementary school kids is held in the Roesch Wing.  Classes are based on a rotational curriculum that teaches bible stories through sessions on science, games and arts and crafts.

Children in the Sunday School also participate in presenting a Christmas program in early December.  Special whole-school events are also held for Palm Sunday, Mother’s Day and Pentecost.

Confirmation Class – Grades 6, 7 & 8
Sunday mornings from 10:00-10:45 a.m., September - May

Students in grades 6, 7 and 8 who are preparing for confirmation meet in the Youth Room.  This class uses a curriculum called CoLABorate: Lutheran Confirmation.  CoLABorate is a problem-based learning curriculum with a three year rotation.  In Year A students study the Old Testament; in Year B they focus on the New Testament; and in Year C they explore Lutheran History & Confessions and Lutheran Living.

Adult Bible Study Opportunities

Sunday mornings from 9:45 a.m. – 10:45 a.m., September - May

Zion’s Sunday morning adult bible study class meets in the Patio Room (located right across from Miller Hall where coffee hour is held).  Participants are welcome to bring their coffee or tea along with their bibles, their questions and their opinions! It is not necessary to be there every week to participate in the conversations about how scripture connects to our lives.  Come when you can!

Third Tuesday of the month - 12:00 noon - 1:00 p.m. (This is a brown bag lunch program)

Zion's weekday bible study meets once a month all year long.  We are currently studying women of the bible using discussion points from the book Fierce:  Women of the Bible and Their Stories of Violence, Mercy Bravery, Wisdom, Sex and Salvation by Alice Connor. Participants are welcome to bring their lunch along with their bibles and their curiosity!  (And in case you're wondering, bible stories about women aren't just for women!)

Vacation Bible School

Zion hosts a Vacation Bible School (VBS) program each July for kids PK – Grade 6.  (Older students are invited to sign up to serve as volunteer helpers.)   At VBS kids learn about the bible through a themed program that features great music, fun games, engaging crafts, service projects and encouragement to discover God at work in their lives.

Zion’s VBS meets in the evening for one week, Monday through Friday.  Dates vary each year but are announced well in advance in our worship bulletins, on our Facebook page and on the front page of our website.

Adult Spanish Language Class
A beginner's Spanish Class meets on Sundays from 12:30 p.m.m - 1:30 p.m. in the Gathering Room.  No experience necessary!
